Snow Hill Missionary Baptist Church is located at 531 Marion-Amos Rd., in Roseboro North Carolina. Our church has celebrated 147 years to the service of our Lord. We are excited about what God has done and what he is doing in our ministry. Church History
The history of the Snow Hill Church and community goes back before this was a free country. Although all legal documents of its origin can not be found, the ancestors passed this valuable information to their families. The families, seeing a need to maintain this information, began to keep records of dates and events that took place in the church and community.
It is told that the present day Snow Hill originated from the son of a slave. His name was Isham Herring. Isham had a brother named Blaney Herring. Before becoming free men, their names were changed to Butler, after their slave master. Little is known of their biological father and very little is known of their mother. The boys were cared for by their grandfather.
